Early Admission Scheme at Hong Kong Universities

Early Admission Scheme (EAS) was offered by major Hong Kong universities between 2002/03 and 2010/11. Students with the highest scores on the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examinations (HKCEE) (fifth year of secondary school) could compete for university entry at the end of their sixth year of secondary school instead continuing for another year to sit the Hong Kong Advanced Level Examinations (HKALE) (seventh year of secondary school).

As of 2012, the new Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE), administered as a single school examination at the end of sixth year of secondary school, replaced the former HKCEE+HKALE scheme and the university bachelor's degree programs have been extended from three to four years.
