Fiji National University nursing program information

The Diploma in Nursing program offered at Fiji National University (Fiji) transitioned to the Bachelor of Nursing program after the 2012 school year.

The Diploma in Nursing was a three-year program that required the Fiji School Leaving Certificate for admission. See the 2011 Prospective for Fiji National University College of Medicine, Nursing & Health Sciences from the archived university website for more information about the Diploma program.

The current Bachelor of Nursing program is a three-year program that requires a pass in the Year 13 examination (or equivalent) for admission. Alternatively, holders of the Diploma in Nursing can complete the Bachelor of Nursing (Lateral Entry) program. The Lateral Entry program requires completion of two additional nursing courses, but students are exempted from sitting the remaining courses based on the prior study. See the 2018 Handbook for Fiji National University College of Medicine, Nursing & Health Sciences from the archived university website for more information about the Bachelor of Nursing and Bachelor of Nursing (Lateral Entry) programs.
