India: UGC declared 24 universities fake

The University Grants Commission (UGC) of India has recently declared 24 “self-styled” institutes as fake. These institutes are unrecognized and are found functioning in violation of the UGC Act, 1956. 

Among the 24 fake universities, 8 are in Uttar Pradesh, 7 are in Delhi, and the rest are in Odisha, West Bengal, Karnataka, Kerala, Puducherry, and Maharashtra. See a list below:
