Unrecognized Institution: Wisconsin International University (WIU) in other countries

Previously known as Concordia International University (CIU), a private institution established in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA in 1992, renamed Wisconsin International University (WIU) in 1995, renamed Worldwide International University (WIU) in 2010. The main office of WIU is now in Bonita Springs, Florida, though it does not claim to operate out of the USA.

Neither CIU nor WIU have ever been accredited by a regional accrediting association in the United States. WIU does not teach any courses or award any degrees in the United States.

WIU has had operations in other countries: Brazil, Canada, China, Estonia, Ghana, Hong Kong, Nigeria, Russia, Singapore, Trinidad & Tobago, and Ukraine*.

*A degree awarded by the Ukrainian-American Humanitarian Institute “Wisconsin International University" (USA) in Ukraine indicated recognition by the Accrediting Commission International (ACI), Arkansas. ACI does not appear on the list of recognized accrediting bodies published by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) of the U.S. Department of Education. Despite the Ukrainian institution's accreditation by the Ukrainian Ministry of Education, a standard national diploma was not issued for this degree, rendering it unverifiable through the Ukrainian OSVITA verification database.
