Universidade Federal da Integracao Latino-Americana in Brazil Established

Universidade Federal da Integracao Latino-Americana [UNILA] (Federal University for Latin American Integration), a public institution, was established on 12 January 2010 in Foz do Iguacu, Parana, where the borders of Argentina, Brazil, and Paraguay meet. UNILAB plans for 50% of its students and faculty to be citizens of Brazil and 50% from other countries in Latin America. No tuition will be charged. Administration and teaching will be bilingual: Portuguese and Spanish.
