Some UK universities planning online-only lectures for 2020-2021

Some universities in the UK, including University of Cambridge and University of Manchester, are planning to at least begin the 2020-2021 academic year with online-only lectures because of the continued risk of COVID-19. Manchester is planning to use this format for the first term of the new academic year, while Cambridge has announced the use of online lectures for the full year. Both institutions hope to be able to supplement the online lectures with smaller in-person teaching groups and tutorials that conform to social distancing requirements.

Other UK institutions, such as the University of Bolton, plan to fully reopen their campus, while implementing measures to reduce the risk for students and staff.
