Ghana schools reopen after 9 months COVID-19 shutdown

After a 9-month school shutdown due to COVID-19, Ghana’s government announced the reopening of schools at all levels for the next academic year earlier this month. 

Tertiary students were the first ones to return to campus from Saturday, January 9, 2021.

Kindergartens, primary schools, and junior high schools reopened on Friday, January 15, 2021.

Second and third years senior high school students resumed class on Monday, January 18, 2021. 

However, first year senior high school students will not return school until March 10, 2021.
