Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women established (India)

In 2013, Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology (IGIT) in Delhi, India was upgraded to a state university with the name of Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women.

IGIT was established in 1998 as the first women-only engineering college. Prior to becoming a degree-granting institution in its own right, IGIT was a constituent college of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University.
