Supporting Refugees

In February President Biden called for an expansion of the U.S. refugee program. He set a goal of welcoming 125,000 people seeking a safe haven from violence, conflict, and persecution.

As the daughter of a refugee from communist East Germany, I am personally moved by the revitalization of the U.S. role in providing refuge to those seeking freedom. Our country continues to be a work in progress in forming that more perfect union envisioned at our forming. Even so, this land is still a beacon for those escaping oppression and hungering for an opportunity to make a good life for themselves, their families, and communities.

Through ECE® Aid, Educational Credential Evaluators, Inc. is assisting refugees and others in need by providing free evaluations of education received in other countries.  With an explanation of how their education compares to the U.S. system, they can get a job that matches their knowledge and skills, be professionally licensed to contribute to their new community, or obtain education to further build their knowledge.

ECE® Aid relies on contributions from donors, large and small. Many ECE clients "pay it forward" and invest in their fellow immigrants to help those less fortunate, but who share equally in the American Dream. Currently ECE® Aid demand is outpacing supply of funds.   We are putting a special emphasis on supporting health care professionals who are at the front lines in battling the COVID pandemic.

Are you looking for a way to support the refugees who are seeking freedom? Are you trying to find a meaningful way to battle the pandemic by supporting those at the front lines of health care? Here is an opportunity for you to put into action your values and beliefs. Consider joining me in making a contribution to ECE® Aid and sharing this message with others who care.
