European Center for Peace Development Diploma Recognition Questioned

European Center for Peace Development is an international/regional/autonomous organization operating in Southeast Europe with headquarters in Belgrade (Serbia). It offers mostly postgraduate development programs.

In 1999, ECPD established the International Faculty of Sport and Physical Education in Bosnia and Herzegovina via a 99-year contract with the University of Banja Luka. In 2009 the legal status, location and operations of the faculty came into question, followed by UBL rector's refusal to sign 40 diplomas awarded upon completion of the faculty's program.

A diploma confirming the title of Professor of Sport and Physical Education awarded by ECPD in 2009 without the UBL rector's signature was reissued in 2011 as a duplicate, this time containing the required rector's signature. The University of Banja Luka confirmed that diplomas awarded with the rector's signature are legally valid as the university's own credentials.
