ALGERIA

Centre Universitaire de Bouira (University Center of Bouira) was established in 2005.

Centre Universitaire de Ghardaia (University Center of Ghardaia) was established in 2005.

ANGOLA

Instituto Superior Privada de Angola (Private Higher Institute of Angola), established in Luanda in 2000, was renamed Universidade Privada de Angola (Private University of Angola) in 2007.

Universidade de Belas (University of Belas) in Luanda was established in 2007.

CANADA

University College of the Cariboo, established in Kamloops, British Columbia, in 1970, was renamed Thompson Rivers University in 2005.

EGYPT

Al-Fayoum Branch of Cairo University, a public institution established in 1988, became Al-Fayoum University in 2005.

Beni-Suef Branch of Cairo University, a public institution established in 1983, became Beni-Suef University in 2005.

Egyptian Russian University, a private institution in Cairo, was established in 2006.

Future University, a private institution in Cairo, was established in 2006.

Sinai University, a private institution in Cairo, was established in 2006.

Sohag Branch of South Valley University, a public institution established in 1979, became Sohag University in 2006.

ENGLAND

Buckinghamshire College of Higher Education, a public institution, was established in 1975 via merger of High Wycombe College of Arts & Technology and Newland Park College of Education (which date back to 1893). It was renamed Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College in 1999, and Buckinghamshire New University (also known as Bucks New University) in 2007.

FRANCE

Ecole Central d’Electronique (Central School of Electronics), a private institution in Paris, is owned by Ecole Centrale des Techniques de l’Environnement Industriel (Central School of Industrial Environmental Technology) [ECTEI]. Laureate Education, Inc. (a U.S. corporation) owns 70% of ECTEI.

Ecole Superieure du Commerce Exterieur (Higher School of International Business), a private institution established in Paris in 1968, has been owned by Laureate Education, Inc. (a U.S. corporation) since 2001.

INDIA

Thomason College of Civil Engineering, established in 1847, expanded and renamed University of Roorkee in 1949, was renamed Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee on 21 September 2001.

Mizoram University was established in 2000 and began functioning on 2 July 2001.

JAPAN

University of Creation, Art, Music and Social Work, a private institution in Takasaki City, was established in 2004.

MACEDONIA

International Balkan University, a private institution established in Skopje in 2006, was officially recognized as a university in 2007.

MALAYSIA

Institut Teknologi Kreatif Limkokwing (Limkokwing Institute of Creative Technology), a private institution established in Selangor Darul Ehsan in 1991, was renamed Kolej Universiti Teknology Kreatif Limkokwing (Limkokwing University College of Creative Technology) in 2002, and was renamed Universiti Teknology Kreatif Limkokwing (Limkokwing University of Creative Technology) in 2007. The president is Lim Kok Wing.

Limkokwing University of Creative Technology has branches in Sarawak and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Gaborone, Botswana (May 2007); Phnom Penh, Cambodia; Beijing, China; London, England (October 2007); Bali and Jakarta Utara, Indonesia; Maseru, Lesotho (August 2008); and Mbabane, Swaziland (planned for 2009).

NEW  ZEALAND
Auckland College of Education merged into the University of Auckland on 1 September 2004.

NIGERIA

Bells University of Technology, a private institution in Ota, Olgun State, was established in 2005.

Cetep City University, a private institution in Yaba, Lagos State, was established in 2005.

Hilltop University, a private institution established in Gboko, Benue State in 1993, was renamed University of Mkar in 2005.

Lead City University, a private institution in Ibadan, Oyo State, was established in 2005.

NORWAY

Agricultural University of Norway, a public institution established in 1859, was renamed Universitetet for Miljo og Biovitenskap (translated as Norwegian University of Life Sciences) in 2005.

Hogskolen i Agder (translated as Agder University College), a public institution established in 1994, was renamed Universitetet i Agder (University of Agder) in September 2007.

Hogskolen i Stavanger (translated as Stavanger University College), a public institution established in 1994, was renamed Universitetet i Stavanger (University of Stavanger) in 2005.

OMAN

College of Administrative Sciences, a private institution established in 1995, is now named Majan College.

Oman Medical College, a private institution, enrolled its first students on 1 October 2001.

PAKISTAN

Sardar Bahadur Khan Women University, a private institution in Quetta, Balochistan, was established in 2004.
