Pontificia Università Urbaniana (PUU), an academic institution of higher learning within the Holy See’s (Vatican) educational system regulated by the Congregation for Catholic Education, includes an extensive worldwide network of affiliated institutes. The affiliated institutes, such as Catholic seminaries, provide education based on syllabi and examination structures developed and supervised by PUU. All courses completed at approved PUU affiliated institutes lead to academic course transfer into one of PUU's academic degree programs in Philosophy, Theology, Canon Law, or Missiology. PUU also awards academic degrees based on study completed at approved PUU affiliated institutes. Unaffiliated Catholic seminary courses are not approved for transfer purposes to PUU.
