Institutions in the United States use a multitude of systems to quantify academic studies; this phenomenon is even more pronounced when one considers the various systems used throughout the world. This publication outlines U.S. credit practices, and then demonstrates how to determine the U.S. equivalent of a quantity of education completed outside of the country. This publication is particularly valuable for U.S. admissions personnel responsible for determining transfer credit, as well as for our international colleagues and students preparing to transfer to U.S. tertiary-level institutions.
