Iraq and Syria country specialists will provide up-to-date information about these educational systems and academic credentials for credential evaluation, admissions and placement, and recruitment needs, with emphasis on determining institutional recognition as well as analysis and verification of documentation. Sample credentials will be shown and essential resources will be provided. In addition, a special guest representative from the US Department of State will discuss the current situation in Syria and the challenges Syrian students face at this time.
Monica Ibrahim has been working with EducationUSA Syria since 2010, where she was initially based in the U.S. Embassy in Damascus. Monica received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Rutgers University in 2005 and her master’s degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Education with a focus on Human Development and Psychology in 2006. Monica has presented at several EducationUSA Forums in Washington D.C.
