Saudi Arabia Council of Universities' Affairs issues decision to convert 40 institutions into applied colleges

The Saudi Arabia Council of Universities' Affairs (مجلس شؤون الجامعات) has issued a decision to restructure 40 colleges and university colleges into applied colleges. The decision is summarized in a recent news release on the Saudi Arabia Ministry of Education website. In the news release, the reality of the labor market is cited as the primary reason for the change. Applied colleges offer diploma programs in high-demand fields like healthcare, technology, and engineering. Once implemented, the change will increase the number of applied colleges in Saudi Arabia to 75, with more than 80 applied program offerings.
